New Zealand Cartoonist M.Emery has been drawing comics since he was a wee lad and since 2007 producing an online collection of strips at www.guzumocomics.com. Creating work firmly in the realm of absurd humour for mature readers, M. Emery has only been arrested once and removed from one convention during the course of his cartooning career. After years of sporadic releases in New Zealand, Blackhouse Comics published a 120 page selection of strips, The Guzumo Show, in early 2011. The first issue of M.Emery’s one man anthology, Pay Through The Soul, was released in late 2011 and he hopes to continue putting out issues on a bi-monthly basis.
